SatireDemocrats Warn Free SpaceX Shares Could Leave Children Better Off Without Addressing Why Musk Annoys Them
Joint address finds jobs, lower emissions and childhood assets fail to treat the underlying presence of Elon Musk.
WASHINGTON — Leading Democrats warned Monday that Elon Musk’s proposed gift of SpaceX shares to every American child could substantially improve their finances without making him any less irritating.
In a joint address outside the Capitol delivered as a cri de coeur against privatized relief, Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez denounced the equity transfer as an existential threat to the youth of America, noting that an unprompted private transfer of wealth risked solving material hardship without vindicating democratic socialism.
“If a billionaire can unilaterally lift working-class children into the investor class, it renders our message of government reliance irrelevant,” Sanders stated, warning that the scheme bypasses necessary federal bureaucracy.
“Also, we must not allow childhood prosperity to arrive ahead of the punitive wealth taxes meant to deliver it.”
When, during a brief Q&A, a reporter noted that Elon's companies employ over 150,000 people in America, significantly contributing to domestic GDP, AOC said Tesla ($TSLA), SpaceX, X.com and Neuralink merely increased the number of households financially dependent on someone she disliked.
She also said reducing carbon emissions didn't count when it was reduced by his cars.
“We ran the numbers, and the children could most assuredly come out ahead,” said DSA policy director Stephanie Turner.
“And that is precisely why we need to slow this down...!”
When asked if Democrats were against the idea of entrepreneurship and youth financial literacy, Turner responded, “I mean, I guess children should be allowed to learn and understand the power of compound growth...
"But not before they understand why accepting it from this particular man is very disappointing...!"
