New $BEN Franklin Templeton ETF Strips Boring Dependability Out Of Blue-Chip Dividend Stocks

Widows and orphans may not have requested hard money, but asset manager won't let that stand in the way of potential alpha.

SAN MATEO, CA — Franklin Templeton plans a Bitcoin DRIP ETF that will convert blue-chip stock dividends into Bitcoin ($BTC), protecting widows and orphans from lacking exposure to the future of money.

The strategy preserves the comfort of a dividend portfolio while reimagining its potentially most dangerous feature: cash arriving on schedule.

“Many of our investors are on fixed income and just want to keep the lights on,” said Jennifer Miller, director of income innovation. “We believe they may want to own an asset that also has them test those lights when they wake up worried at 3 a.m....”

According to fund materials, incorporating hard money could provide both downside protection and alpha, two benefits retirees had not requested when trying to cover their gas bill.

Miller stressed that, before the fund, shareholders had been free to spend their dividends without really considering whether sovereign currencies were doomed...

“But I'm sure once we explain monetary debasement, our customers will insist that what they really need is asymmetric upside."
